Remembering Bob Knowlton BOB KNOWLTON passed away at the age of 61 on October 21st 2009. He was born December 10th, 1947 to Robert Allen Knowlton Sr. and Dorothy Scott Myers. A resident of Houston for most of his life, Bob was a 1966 graduate of Lamar High School and went on to attend the University of Texas and the University of Houston.Bob's career included 13 years as a broadcast newsman, anchor, news director, talk show moderator, reporter, and interviewer at broadcast stations in Houston, Dallas, and San Francisco. He also served as a professional on-camera and voiceover presenter in approximately 2,400 corporate television programs. For the last 15 years, Bob served as a professional leadership and communication consultant to senior corporate leaders at companies throughout the world.Bob was passionately committed to volunteer and charity work to help those and their families recovering from alcohol and drug addiction. His many awards for this work included the State of Texas Governor's Volunteer Service Award, the Jay Waggoner Service Award, and Rudy W. Volunteer of the Year Award, Ramsey Unit.A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 31st, at The Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston, 303 Jackson Hill St., Houston, TX 77007.
